I am writing to say thankyou for everything you said on the Jeremy Vine show yesterday. I spent the whole of the debate in tears, howling at points, which is never good sat in your car in a public car park!
I am as the proffs would say, morbidly obese, I think that I am probably between 25 and 30 stone, not that I would ever admit that to anyone else.
I have been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries, and also received treatment (like aa but for food....) for Binge eating disorder. I have been fat for years, and have never really known what life is like to be slim. I`ve done a few diets and things, and have lost up to 5 stone, only for the next miserable feeling to come along and before i know it I have put on half a stone, the rest, as im sure you know, soon follows.
Some of the things that those narrow minded people said yesterday really got to me, in fact, i was feeling so low that it was the last straw, and i sat and wrote a goodbye letter to my fiance and family, if you know what i mean....
But by the end of the letter I had thought about what you had said, and what Andy had said, and about that man that said Fat people should be banned from eating in public, and refused to let him win!
I have had enough of being taunted, laughed at, ridiculed, abused and humiliated, and I am determined to do something about it. Do these people realise that to carry on living life actively, to hold down a job (i am a carer, a physically demanding job), sometimes to just go outside and be able to hold your head high takes a huge amount of strength of character?
Can we do something about this? I think exposure (ooer) is so important, if there is anything i can do, please contact me.
Thankyou for inspiring me yesterday, and if you are in touch with Andy again soon, please send him my best wishes and thanks. Maybe you could tell him i had a similar chair experience but mine was at a crowded cricket match and involved flying pizza.....

Why shouldn't we people who are built for comfort - and lets face it who would want to snuggle up to a stick insect - shop for clothes that fit without being made to feel like aliens.

Like you I am all for healthy eating, I go to the gym which I enjoy, I don't lose weight but what the hell I must be a bit fitter for it, I am 17 stone but only 5'4 so I am a roly poly!!! I have two sons of 14 and 12, the eldest is straight up and down but the youngest has inherited my genes and despite being active is overweight, for which he gets teased for at school, he is a lovely polite lad who is intelligent - why oh why can't people see beyond his appearance and accept him for what he is.

Hopefully with the publicity for your website it will raise awareness and show everyone that we too are normal - and have a sense of humour!!!!!!

I am (hopefully ) beginning to accept myself for who I am, not the number of folds of fat I have on my belly!).

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to find your site. I found it through an ebay listing and have made my son's bed time late as I was so absorbed by your campaign.
I WANT TO PLAY, why don't you live next door so we could have a coffee and a chat! It is so wonderful to read such incredibly positive and wise words. I am fat, always have been, not that fit as I am a diabetic, recently diagnosed with epilepsy too, as if I don't take enough medication already. BUT, and it's a big but. Most people who come to my home are amazed at the energy that I put into things and my enthusiasm for life is boundless, 'coz it's just so great! I put my skinny friends to shame ( she says immodestly!).

I truly will join your campaign, hope that I can add something to the equation, and thank you for closing my day on such a positive note.
I really have got to go now as my 3 year old son is tugging at my sleeve, begging for his bath!
